CRYPTO GLOSSARY

Pinning

Keeping a copy of a file on IPFS so that it stays available.

Pinning in more detail

The file stays available only while at least one computer on the network keeps a copy. Keeping a copy is called pinning. If nobody pins it, the file can vanish even though the link is still correct.
